Complex artistic-social project confronts the recipient with unique forms of narration used by artists in contemporary art. Presentation of the different attitudes and concepts integrates the environment of invited artists with critics, curators, theoreticians of art, collectors and cultural animators, volunteers.
Sylwia Galon will present the project Eskalacja [Escalation], which will be created specially for Żak. Escalation is the installation seemingly linear. Inside, however, there is a dynamic process of decay, a kind of helplessness that results in a deconstruction of work. Escalation combines different media, from sculpture and installation to site-specific object.
SYLWIA GALON
Year 1986, deals with video, installations, multimedia activities, bioart. A graduate of Cathedral of Intermedia at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and the Dutch Art Institute in the Netherlands. She has participated in exhibitions in Poland and abroad: Fiction and Fiction in the Wyspa Institue of Art (Wyspa 2009), Scary Challenge Tallinn (Estonia, 2009), Stocznia [Shipyard] – map of memory and author project of the WSA (Wyspa 2010), Trwa Generowanie Poglądu MS w Łodzi (2010), Universal habitat, my habitat Tina B Festival (Prague 2011). She deals with widely understood bioart, experimenting in collaboration with scientists, as well as video and installations. She is interested in both the post conceptual acts as well as critical art. Redefinitions, creating new contexts. She lives and works in Gdańsk.
