The concert by new Tricity band Joanna Knitter Blues & Folk Connection will close the Babskie Granie weekend (27 - 29.01.2012), during which will perform bands led by women: Biff (new album) and Öszibarack (new album). JOANNA KNITTER - jazz and blues singer. A graduate of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk. She won among other awards for best instrumentalist on the Przegląd Młodych Zespołów Jazzowych i Bluesowych w Gdyni, the winner of the special prizes awarded by Billy Harper on the Zmagania Jazzowe w Szczecinie. In 2010 she received the prestigious award –Sopocka Muza dla Młodych Twórców. She has performed with leading Polish artists of the jazz scene (Wojciech Karolak, Jerzy Duduś Matuszkiewicz, Przemek Dyakowski, Wojciech Kamiński, Cezary Paciorek, Wojtek Staroniewicz). Normally she plays with Przemek Dyakowski in the Take It Easy band, in a duet with Jarosław Ziętek and in The Moongang formation in which she can be not only a singer but a songwriter and music composer. Blues & Folk Connection is her new project.
