Organizer of MOZARtIANA 2010 - POLISH CHAMBER CHOIR Schola Cantorum Gedanensis - announces that once again the International Mozart Festival will be the unique in many ways event. For four days, in natural interior and open air dated to the period of classicism, will be presented the music of the genius composer. Abbots’ Palace and the park surrounding it - the main strengths of Oliwa, the historic district of Gdansk - are the "Mozart's peers". These facilities to its current architectural shape obtained in 1756 - the year of birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The time of the festival converges with the height of the summer season. Thus represents an excellent proposition for Polish and foreign tourists croudly visiting Gdańsk. Admission to all concerts, except the final concert, is free. Currently, the event brings together more than twenty thousand spectators. However, the number of intrested people is much higher if we take into account all those who are in the park because of the framing of the festival.
As every year, for the young audience, will be presented symphony concerts and shows of dancing fountains to the music of Mozart. All these events will be presented in a beautiful scenery of Oliwa Park and Oliwa Cathedral. Sound and lights will make the Oliwa Park an open-air stage, which is filled by an unconventional music. Contemporary cultural trends combined with classical music, unique art facilities, beautiful scenery and the integration between the generations are elements typical for the last five years of the Mozartiana Festival. Guests of the current festival edition will be: Wrocław Baroque Orchestra, Cracow Philharmonic Orchestra, Krzesimir Dębski, Anna Carbonera, Valentina Coladonato. Mozartiana goes in every way beyond the narrow interpretations of the word music festival. Festival Mozartiana met with interest of CNN, which in 2008 presented pictures from this project.
An impohrtant element of every Mozartiana festival is also a topic "children". According to the organizer's intention it is to attract and stimulate young imaginations, learn to listen to classical music forms. This effect is achieved through the use of specific forms of presentation, tailored to the perceptive abilities of children.
