Oliver Walker is interested in a critical deconstruction of political and social system in which we live. The "Mr Democracy" project touches the key issues of contemporary trade, globalisation, and democracy. The starting point for artistic activity became the constitution of Great Britain, or rather lack thereof. A specific feature of the country's political system is the lack of constitution in the formal sense (written constitution). Within the project, the artist commissioned and produced the UK's fundamental law in China, to then import it to the UK. The title "Mr Democracy" refers to terms used in Chinese movements 4 May and the New Culture, to describe the Western democracies.
