Na piaszczystym wzgórzu, 1200 m od brzegu stoi metalowa latarnia zbudowana w 1906.

Na szesnastokątnej wieży, powyżej 10 kondygnacji, na wys. 32,5 m umieszczony jest aparat świetlny, którego blaski mają zasięg 42 km. Maszynownię w sąsiedztwie wieży zbudowano w 1938 i przeniesiono tutaj urządzenia z budynku znajdującego się u podnóża wydmy.

Z galerii latarni widoczne są sąsiednie latarnie w Rozewiu i Czołpinie oraz sięgające aż po horyzont, zieleń lasów i błękit morza z masztami wraku leżącego nieopodal Łeby.

Latarnia Morska Hel

Nie wszyscy wiedzą, że na „końcu Polski” znajduje się latarnia morska.

Uruchomiona w 1827, uległa zburzeniu w 1939. Obecna wys. 41,5 m została pobudowana w 1942. W laternie umieszczono soczewkę o wys. 117 cm i śr. 80 cm, z żarówką 1000 W. Zasięg światła wynosi 33 km. Nad mierzeją góruje czerwona murowana wieża.

Z niej roztacza się widok na wody Zatoki, a także można zobaczyć latarnie w Jastarni i Porcie Płn., nieczynne w Nowym Porcie i Górze Szwedów i przy dobrej pogodzie światła Krynicy Morskiej i Rozewia.

Latarnia Morska Krynica Morska

Latarnia stanowi charakterystyczny obiekt Mierzei Wiślanej.

Pierwsza zbudowana w 1895, uległa zburzeniu w 1945. Obecną o wysokości 27 m uruchomiono w 1951. W laternie zainstalowano soczewkę cylindryczną o śr. 1000 mm, wys. 91 cm. Światło z 1000 W żarówki umieszczonej na wysokości 53 m n.p.m. widziane jest z odległości około 36 km.

Pełniąca rolę „strażniczki mierzei”, czerwona wieża z białą laterną, góruje nad iglastymi lasami mierzei. Z wieży roztacza się widok na morze i południowe brzegi Zalewu Wiślanego.

Museum – Sea Lighthouse

Najbardziej wysuniętą na północ latarnią jest Rozewie.

Uruchomiona w 1822 była dwukrotnie podwyższona. Soczewkę ze stołem pozostawiono w dotychczasowym miejscu. Światło zainstalowane na wysokości 83 m n.p.m. widać z odległości 48 km.

Wystawa historii latarnictwa, wyremontowane i udostępnione budynki maszynowni, piekarni i stodoły stanowią ciekawy zespół gospodarstwa latarnianego. Latarnia nosząca imię Stefana Żeromskiego prezentuje skromną wystawę jego twórczości. W sąsiedztwie stoi nieczynna wieża latarni.

The Free City state of Danzig was born in the aftermath of WWI to settle a dispute over its control between Germany and Poland.

Over 80% of citizens thought of themselves as Danzigers. Not Poles, nor Germans sometimes using the words, ‘I am a person from here’ (Ich bin der Hiesige). In turmoil after the war, the 1930s were an era of extraordinary prosperity for the city. It was only with the rise of the Nazis that changes arrived which resulted in war.

However this exhibition is not about this. Our aim is to show the city as an extraordinary place, a melting pot of nations and a highly developed centre of trade. A magical place. Danzig.

Museum of the National Anthem in Będomino

The Museum of the National Anthem in Będomin is housed in a baroque mansion from the early eighteenth century, which is the birthplace of Joseph Wybicki, the composer of the Polish national anthem Mazurek Dąbrowskiego.

The museum has a rich collection of patriotic musical pieces, among them a nineteenth-century music box playing Mazurek Dąbrowskiego, the oldest recordings of this song from the early twentieth century, and also one of the biggest Polish collections of archival patriotic postcards with the motive of the White Eagle.

Centre of Archaeological Education

Located in a historic granary at Chmielna Street 53 in Gdańsk the centre covers 3,000 sq.m., over 7 floors and is in the only Gdańsk granary that is so well preserved.

The main attraction is the Hanseatic street, where workshops from the beginning of XIV century are presented and the visitor experience is increased by the sounds and smells of a middle age city. The craftsmen in these workshops are faithfully reconstructed fi gures of Gdańskians from XIII and XIV century based on skeletal material found the Market Hall in Gdansk. This is an unique project on a global level.

“Grodzisko” fort in Sopot - a branch of the Archaeological Museum

The early middle age fort is located at Haff ner Street 63, in Sopot, around 400 m from the Baltic sea.

It is believed that it was a fort castle, whose main task was to control and observe the sea shore. It functioned in the pre-Piast era, probably until the time the fort in Gdansk was created at the end of the X century. This attractive outdoor museum is involved in teaching and promoting the history and monuments of early Middle Age Pomerania.

Workshops of ancient crafts are recreated, numerous Plebeian competitions, games and fun are taking place, demonstrations of sword and battleaxe fi ghting, archery, presentations of weapons, impressive Scottish and Irish dancing and concerts of old music.

The Archaeological Museum is located in a listed XVI century building on the bank of the Motlawa river.

The museum’s collection includes over 27,000 archaeological, ethnographical, numismatic and nature exhibits. How to get to the museum? It is located in the complex of buildings on the Motława river, between Mariacka, Dziana, Mydlarska and Długie Pobrzeże streets in the very heart of the Old Town.

Due to this you need to walk to the museum (not reachable in the car). The entrance can be found at Mariacka 25/26
